Catherine MacKinnon, RI

Catherine MacKinnon is an RI(BC) designated real estate professional with nine years of direct experience in the field. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC), a postgraduate certificate in valuation (PGCV), and a certificate in real property assessment (CPRA). Catherine started her assessment career at BC Assessment (BCA) and is currently a Senior Appraiser (Acting). Catherine has spent most of her time with the organization on the residential portfolio but has also worked on the Multi-Family, Development Land and Strata appraisal team, specializing in the mass appraisal of multi-family properties in all of Greater Victoria. Catherine has held positions such as Chair of the Engagement Committee, where she founded a mentorship program for staff in the Vancouver office. Throughout her career, Catherine has demonstrated a commitment to continuous professional development. She has completed several courses, including: Harvard ManageMentor, Writing for Business, Microsoft Excel Certification Program, and Modelling, Scrum, and Agile Workshops. She is passionate about creating a work environment that fosters learning and professional growth and is eager to action her passion as a Board Director of the IAAO BC Chapter.
Outside of BCA, Catherine actively contributes to the local community. She has held a Board Director and Advisor position for the Saanich Heritage Foundation, which included the mentorship of University of Victoria students. Catherine currently lives in Victoria with her husband and children, where she stays well caffeinated, and enjoys long walks around the nearby lakes.
