About Us

IAAO BC is the local chapter of IAAO International. BC is Canada`s western most province and third largest, by geography and population, after Ontario and Quebec. It borders the Pacific Ocean, the Yukon Territory, the province of Alberta the US states of Montana, Idaho and Washington. BC is nearly a million square kilometers in area and has a population of over 4.5 million people.

In this vast and varied landscape, the BC chapter is a manifestation of the strong ties the British Columbia assessment community has with the IAAO. Several members of the BC Chapter are part of the IAAO Under 40 Leadership Lab and the chapter has written into their bylaw a director post for U40 representation – a first for an IAAO chapter.

The chapter will work towards the following:

  • Advance the goals and objectives of the IAAO
  • Raise the standards of the assessment profession
  • Share knowledge and promote professional development
  • Promote assessor designations
  • Support the assessment community
  • Support members to better serve the taxpayers of B.C.
