My name is Heidi Palmer, and I joined the IAAO in 201 7. I’m honoured to be nominated for a term as an executive in the BC Chapter. I have an active interest in the success and growth of the IAAO BC Chapter, and have experience with the organization as a local advocate for U40 and as a par t of the BC Chapter Membership Committee. I’ve hosted an IAAO education session for four assessment offices in northern BC which highlighted some of our members and their experience wit h IAAO. I completed beta testing for IAAO Connect, and supported the executive mixer event in Vancouver. I see how information from I AAO Connect, and IAAO webinars can help our member s enhance their expertise in work port folios and I’d like to help the BC Chapter in getting that information out to our members.
I am also a member of REIBC as of 201 6, and have sat on the Cariboo Chapter Committee. As an active member, I was part of organizing and hosting local events before local committees closed. I too k part of a provincial t ask force in 2019 for REIBC to increase non-dues revenue, and have completed ad hoc work for the organization over the past couple years. I am a member of the BCA Women’s Network, and sit on regional engagement. and health and wellness committees. I’m an active member of my community, volunteering for local event s and services ranging from Canada Games materials management, to tutoring ESL, to Snow board Canada photography.
My educational path began with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and management, and morphed into a focus on real estate. I obtained my Diploma in Urban Land Economics in 2016, and have pursued a degree of Bachelor of Business in Real Estate.
